Capturing Movement of Gum Gum Gatling
Inspired from Japanese famous anime, ‘One-Piece’, our group attempts to capture a realistic movement from the main character, Luffy’s signature attack skill, called ‘Gum Gum Gatling’. From the real-time movement point data lists, we sorted out punches and returns by using vector directions and their dot products. When dot products are negative value, it indicates the change of movement direction. Thus, the geometry of sphere, representing fists, are moving along the curve line in sequent that are created from the data set. Some obstacles we faced are that due to the speed of movement, some data are not perfectly match to the rule of dot products. However, the position of still shots are facing directly to the punch, and it gives dramatical perspective view to the movement captured.
