Liquid Forms
Studies in Water and Lily Pads
In this experiment, we visualize the effect of water droplets hitting a still surface of water. We start with a single falling drop, then we imagine the wave interference of two drops hitting the water at the same time. This water in this study can be represented in three different ways: 1) water is constructed as a surface, 2) water is shown as a pool of two-dimensional circles, and 3) water is a collection of three-dimensional spheres. The quantity and radius of the circles and spheres are stored as a variable and can therefore be easily manipulated by sliders.
