The Great Wave
A Seaside Scene With Elements Interacted.
The project depicts a seaside scene where sailboats, surfers and animals interact with the wave of the sea. Though constantly changing, the sea here is considered as the permanent surface where different objects co-habit, while the great wave, is an interrupter with the quality of transience. The water surface is generated through a series of points controlled by a mathematical formula. As time changes, the points are shifting dynamically thus mimicking the wave of the ocean.
A collection of objects inhabits the 2.5-dimensional space in different ways. The surfers are moving with the wave when it arrives. The dolphins below the water jump out of the ocean at some points. And the boats are drifting on the ocean, changing its orientation as the normal direction of the water surface changes. In this scene, nature and human, creatures and objects, interact with one another, tell a story of permanence and transience.
