1 Geometric Array

Typically drawn in natural perspective, still life is a dominant genre of Western art. The form, arising out of the history of painting and prevalent photography and sculpture, is defined by the subject matter— dead and/or motionless matter. Through the digital tool of 3D scanning, still matter is translated to data, pixels, lists of 0s and 1s, severing the fixed relationship to the objects in space. The geometric manipulation of digital mesh distorts the representation, bringing the data to life as repressions of everyday arrangements.
