As a twist on the common design dictum ‘thinking-through-making’, NeuroCreate puts forth the provocation ‘making-through-thinking’. NeuroCreate is a 3D modeling application that is entirely controlled by the user’s gaze and levels of focusness. Users will be able to navigate the interface and build digital models by using eye gaze and thoughts as input signals. This project seeks to reevaluate current modes of human-machine interaction, while proposing new ways of making.

By utilizing thinking as a mode of creation, NeuroCreate aims to provide accessibility in design-making on two fronts. Firstly, the tool could be adopted by both design novice and experts alike, bridging the technological barrier that comes with software learning. Secondly, the application seeks to provide tools of creation that do not require the use of limbs, making the conversation of design inclusive to those with physical disabilities as well.

Besides questioning notions of accessibility in the design tools we use, NeuroCreate additionally aims to be a tool that could build attention spans. The height and width of the voxels expanding in the X,Y,Z direction correlates to the degree of focus the users employ while building their model.
