We intended to recreate a vision of the sun rising from the water, drawing inspiration from works like Max Richter’s Dream 3 and James Turrell’s Color Inside. To depict the motion of the sea, we made a group of dots that resemble a plane, and we added a sphere to the top of the plane to represent the sun. We chose a section from Max Richter’s Dream 3, from which we extracted the dominant frequency at every frame through a fast Fourier transform. Along with the sounds, the sphere and plane-like point movements fluctuate. The colors were drawn from James Turrell’s Color Inside, which is where we first got the idea for the sunset/sunrise. The soothing motion of the sun and the music allow the audience to practice meditation and relax.
