A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods. We have took the basic idea of such and applied it into 3d computational visualization — to create 'geometrically' modified fruits.

Using 3d scanners (including Artec Eva and Davis SLS), we transported our fruits, including apple, banana and bell pepper, into 3d objects and regenerated it into various variations of geometrically morphing objects. Different variations of fruits in between two fruits show a unique shape that is a mixture of both: "apple-banana," "apple-pepper" and "pepper-banana."
