We got inspiration from "Surrealism", which releases the unbridled imagination of the subconscious. For medium, we chose avocado which is full of nutrients with smooth and buttery flesh when mature but changes its shape as time goes by. By 3D scanning a commonplace object, an avocado, we were able to begin investigating ways to get ideas from Mike Wazoski, a character we enjoyed as kids, and which form is similar to an avocado. The resemblance between an avocado and Mike Wazoski is surprisingly uncanny. Depending on the cultivar, avocados can be pear-shaped, egg-shaped, or spherical. We explored all three shapes by 3d scanning a pear-shaped avocado, constructing an egg-shaped 3D model, and finally modeling a spherical avocado-like Mike Wazoski.
