1 Undulating Form Situation

Inspired by the motion aesthetics of the animation Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, this project uses motion recording data as the generator for form-making. The undulating surface comes from the dancer swinging arms and moving around a space. As Chuck Jones says, “What makes a character spring to life is how it moves, not how it looks.” This continuing movement is translated by Bezier Curvature and Loft function in Rhino to an intersecting and floating geometry, which brings quick and beautiful formal prototypes for architectural fabrication and construction.
