1 Optimized Non-Planar Printing

This project was an exploration in non-planar printing as a fabrication process in contrast to standard slicing methods. The process involved scripting custom g-code in grasshopper to manipulate the printer's behavior, as well as deploying custom scripts to check for collisions between the printer head and the extruded material.

A series of isocurves are first manipulated in the Z-axis, and then converted into poly lines that are connected from end to end in order to construct the tool path.To manipulate transparency, the extrusion rate of the material was also adjusted to achieve different results
