Living under such a digitalized culture, our traces, memories and even emotions are all gradually digitised into data that exist online instead of in real life.

For this project, we would like to create a digital monument of a friend, Nathan, who left us unexpectedly. In this case, we chose to source from Nathan’s Instagram posts since we believe that these contents might have a stronger representations of Nathan himself, or what he wanted others to perceive him as. We used Grasshopper and wrote a code sourcing all Nathan’s pictures into simple pixels and stack them together just like a monument.

In addition, we would like to film a video along with the model to make the story more compelling and visually easier to for audiences to understand our intentions.
