Shared Bench
Indexing Collectivity
Materializing the movement of passing around a cell phone. Here we invert the relationship between velocity of object and width of bench. The phone slows down when passed from one to another. The stability of the hand-off implies a leg of the bench, and the imprecise movement of the phone translates into a sensuous movement of cascading lofts.
Contrary to popular understanding of velocity notation, the shared bench reverses this notion. The slower you are, the more time you spend sharing, the more space is provided for the sharing moment.
