This project explores the creation of an abstract space similar to Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Initially inspired by the work of Daniel Ashram and concepts of mysticism and spirituality, the project evolved towards a crystalline aesthetic reminiscent of Superman’s iconic sanctuary.

We first oriented each plane to face a uniform direction and then employed the scripting component to outline a lozenge (diamond shape) on each plane. At each corner of the lozenge, cubes were generated, drawing parallels to the sharp, jagged, yet organic qualities of crystals. The lozenge size dynamically reflects the original motion's speed: closer planes yield smaller lozenges, while more distant planes produce larger ones. This variability reinforces a sense of naturalness and fluidity, as the formation of each shape is tied to a specific movement.

We implemented flexible parameters for both the minimum and maximum lozenge sizes and the cube dimensions (the script also includes code that locates the cubes on the lozenge which can be manipulated!). Enlarging the cubes allowed for intersections - reinforcing the illusion of an organic crystalline growth. This layering of motion and form within a mystical, surreal framework creates a unique mirroring of Superman’s Fortress, a structure that embodies both the mesmerizing nature and the innate spirituality of crystals.
