Yupeng the Building

Yupeng wants to be a building. Sierra agreed.

1 Investigating geometric shapes as building.

We modified a C# script provided to us by Sang, namely his voxel file.

We continued to work on top of it, incorporating the following:

Making the bricks responsive to the changing polyline directions by calculating the vector and perpendicular vector to the polyline created, at each point on the line.

Making the number of bricks per slice responsive to the size indicated by the user.

Making the height of the brick responsive to the size of the slices.

The curvilinear form is reinterpreted through discrete unitized blocks that allow for reconstruction in materials like brick, concrete blocks, and more. Close up renders of rough brick walls has never been easier! We imagine the possibilities of this extending beyond 'brick-ifiying' structures, but also creating a tool for more general abstraction and duck-style symbolic representation.
