The butterfly curve is a beautiful transcendental plane curve discovered by Temple H. Fay. I used the Muse 2 headband to detect brainwave activity and transform it into a dynamic, parametric butterfly curve. EEG signals are captured in real time and processed on a local server, where raw data is cleaned, filtered, and decomposed into alpha, beta, delta, and theta bands. These bands are mapped to emotional states like focus and creativity, which define the butterfly’s parameters, such as size, colour, and pulse. It accepts real-time EEG input and generates an interactive, visual representation of affective states.
